Comparisons!

I thought it would be neat to show some comparisons from the first day until now (two months later). There's been lots of improvement!

The first picture is a bit blurry, but you can definitely see the change!

Two months in braces!

Here's a quick update! I've had my braces on for two months now. I can't believe how much they've already changed my teeth, it hasn't even been that long :D

One Month in Braces

So, it's been a few days shy of a month since I got my top braces put on! I'm already noticing some slight changes. I think my one front tooth is getting straighter too. I'm going back to the orthodontist on the 12th!

Just got braces!

Hello! My name is Brittany. I wanted to make this blog to show how my teeth progress with braces.

I've been insecure about my teeth for years. I had the chance to get them when I was younger, but at the time I really didn't care about what my teeth looked like, and I honestly didn't think it was a big deal. As I got older it started to bother me more. I didn't feel comfortable smiling, and I worried about not being attractive when I showed my teeth.

As we all know, braces are not cheap. I happen to be a fraternal twin, and my sister needs braces as well. So, I always knew it was going to be expensive for my parents since they'd have to pay for both of us at the same time. We also don't have any insurance that covers orthodontic work. Luckily, the orthodontist we're going to (who was referred to us through my dentist) is very nice. He was able to work out a payment plan with us, and he's really lax about it.

After the consultation (and molds/x-rays), I was finally ready to have my braces put on. I just got the top ones done yesterday, and in about five weeks I'll get my bottom ones. I definitely hace to say that it feels weird! It's a strange sensation to have something constantly on your teeth when you're not used to it. The pain actually isn't too bad. My teeth are sore, and it can hurt to floss and eat, but it isn't anything that I can't handle. Plus motrin helps with that!

I was a bit concerned with getting braces at my age. I really didn't want to look weird. But I know the end results will be worth it, and my desire to have a nice smile outweighs the other feelings. Below I'll post some pictures of my teeth before braces and some after. I can't wait to start seeing progress :)

This one's pretty old! from about 3 years ago I think, but either way my teeth are the same, haha.
The next two are recent ones of me with no braces!

Here's me with braces! I'll post two side views as well. I kind of regret not wearing more make up for these pictures, oh well!
